Awu (Yuhua Li) is an artist, video game developer, film director and theatre producer. She expands the boundary between video games and theatre, combining them into a new and interesting form. She created the interactive video game theatre piece Virtual Collision and performed the piece with a 4D Sound System in Muffathalle in Munich. The 4D Sound System was developed by Ableton, and provided an immersive audio playback environment.
As a lecturer, she teaches in several institutions: Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts and Technology, BIMM University and CIEE Council of International Educational Exchange. Awu holds an MA in Sound Studies and Sonic Arts from Universität der Künste Berlin, she worked at Inkuim Game Studio as an audio director and at Shanghai Canbox. TV film studio as a sound designer. Other than that, she was involved in several Chinese punk bands as lead singer and bass guitar player.
