Helena Marinho
Film Technician
Helena is originally from Porto, Portugal, but she considers Berlin her home for now. She started working for Catalyst in September '22 after graduating. As a film tech, she ensures everyone has what they need for their films and prevents any mishaps. Before joining Catalyst, Helena graduated our Film Production BA as well as studying law in Portugal. Her favourite part of her role at Catalyst is interacting with the students and getting to know them as people and artists.
Helena loves watching movies and cooking. She enjoys nerding out about the tiny details, hunting easter eggs left by directors and seeing the process of filmmaking coming together into a single whole. So you can see why Helena also loves cooking. She uses it as a way to express herself, show love, and learn a new recipe or two along the way.
Her life tip is: be kind, don’t be an asshole and learn how to cook.
