Originally from the U.S., Benjamin has called Berlin home since 2015. He oversees the curriculum and educational experience of our Electronic Music Production and Performance first years. “I enjoy my work here because of the experimental vision of the programme, and the exciting staff who I get to work with each day,” he says.
Before working at Catalyst, Benjamin received his MA from McGill University, where he studied the design of electronic musical instruments. As a teacher, he specializes in getting students to connect their music with the world around them. He enjoys listening to his students’ work the most, and talking to them about their creative practices.
When Benjamin is not at the Funkhaus, you can find him experimenting with new ideas as a member of Technische Unitersität Berlin’s Audiokomminikation group. As an avid runner, you may also catch him jogging through many of Berlin’s green and beautiful public parks.
