Hannah Deans
Experience Network Lead
Keeping our calendar full of memorable events and amazing opportunities since 2014, Hannah Deans makes life at Catalyst extra exciting. The New Zealand native describes her role as “helping to grow communities by creating unique experiences both inside and outside the school.” Hannah works with students, alumni, partners, organisations and local creative communities to enhance our collective learning experience.
As well as a diverse range of guest lectures, major education events and showcases, Hannah masterminded our famous Dialogues panel series and annual Signals Festival (with people lead Suzana Benesova). Over three insightful Dialogues seasons, we’ve put our heads together with leading figures on important topics – women in music production, mental health and creativity, and diversity – in order to affect change in the industry. Year on year, Signals Festival is growing and diversifying. As well as showcasing our community’s trailblazing creations to the public, it’s the perfect platform to build relationships and learning opportunities with our external communities.
Hannah – who comes from a big family of artists and musicians – says that being surrounded on a daily basis by creative, fascinating storytellers and artists from around the world makes her feel right at home at Catalyst. “The students, the team and Berlin in general are a constant motivation and source of inspiration,” she reveals.
